Jack Wilshere leaving Arsenal to replace Arturo Vidal at Juventus transfer story is nonsense

Arsenal Jack Wilshere has been linked with a move to Juventus (Picture: Getty Images) According to reports this weekend, Juventus have set their sights on Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere as the player they want to replace Arturo Vidal should the midfielder leave the club this summer. Not only have they identified the Englishman as a viable replacement, the reports claim they are confident of being able to secure his signature. It’s all total nonsense. First off, Vidal doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, despite heavy interest from a number of clubs including Manchester United, so this all becomes a moot point designed to get people talking and outraged. But, even if Vidal did leave, I can’t see how any club would be ‘ confident ’ of luring Wilshere away from Arsenal unless they were planning on offering the London club an absolutely ridiculous amount of money and they then forced the midfielder out the door. Arsenal currently have absolutely no need to sell any players no matter how much another club offers. Of course, football clubs are a business and when someone offers you three or four times the market value for one of your assets only a fool would turn that down. Arsenal and Arsene Wenger aren’t fools. But they are also aware they have worked incredibly hard to change the mood at the club, from one where fans expect big players to leave to one which saw an expectation arise that their stars would stay and be supplemented by others.
