Samsung signs patent deals with Google and Ericsson

Samsung Electronics has signed two global patent licensing agreements with Google and Ericsson, which will give the companies access to each other's patent portfolios. The Ericsson deal is particularly significant as it draws the line under a series of high-profile legal battles between the tech giants. Samsung has agreed to pay Ericsson a settlement of 4.2 billion SEK (£394m) initially, plus ongoing royalty payments.
