DEWALT DW744X Jobsite Portable Table Saw

By Ed Richards

The DEWALT DW744X 10" Jobsite Table Saw is a versatile portable table saw with lots of features.

The saw has a high torque powerful 15 amp motor providing a max rip capability up to 24-1/2 inches. This DEWALT DW744X table saw provides good application specific setups. There is a site pro modular guarding system for additional security and great vision when in use.

Thanks to a 15 amp, high-torque motor, this DEWALT table saw produces the power you want for tough jobs such as cutting hardwood and pressure-treated lumber. The saw's 10-inch blade spins at a no-load speed of 3,650 rpm for quick, neat cuts. Even while you are confronted with the most difficult applications, you will still have consistently high quality cut due to the saw's built-in electronic feedback which assures consistent blade speeds.

To ensure precision and user convenience, this saw features a heavy-duty internal motor mechanism that stabilizes the arbor and maintains vibration to a minimum. Furthermore, the saw's soft-start feature permits for prolonged gear and motor life by minimizing start-up torque.

The DEWALT versatile Site-Pro Modular Guarding System makes it effortless to set up for numerous applications by allowing tool-free adjustment of application-specific guarding components.

You get an enormous 24-1/2-inch rip capacity with the saw's exclusive fence configuration. Rack and pinion fence rails make fence changes quick, effortless, and accurate. The fence's telescoping design permits the rails to move out to 24 inches to rip full sheets of materials or be retracted for a compact design that is simple to transport.

As well as providing large rip capacity, this saw can cut dados to as much as 13/16-inch wide. It features a maximum cut depth of 3-1/8 inches at 90 degrees and 2-1/4 inches at 45 degrees. Plus a large 26-1/2 by 19-1/4-inch table surface offers the support you require when working with large applications.

This DEWALT table saw weighs only 57 pounds which, together with the foldable table saw stand, allows for simple setup and tear down. This makes it easily transportable from your workshop to the worksite.

For additional convenience, on-board storage provides quick access to the Site-Pro Guarding components and the push stick if they're not in use. A handy 2-inch dust collection port enables you to connect the saw to a Shop-Vac for great dust extraction and a neater work area.

Compact and portable at just 57 pounds, this table saw comes with a folding stand for convenience.

DEWALT DW744X Table Saw Review:

The saw sits securely on the stand and has all the power anybody would require in a contractor saw. It's quiet, has a large, flat table, good blade insert and precise fence. There is onboard storage for spare blades and blade spanners. However I would not advise someone working on jobsites by themselves to purchase this saw, it's a bit too heavy and awkward. Ideally I'd leave the DW744 at the workshop and purchase the DW745 which has the same size motor but with a lowered rip capacity and therefore smaller table and better portability.
