Ravens TE Dennis Pitta 'moving well' at OTAs Posted: 01 Jun 2015 11:59 AM PDT Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta is recovering from his second major hip surgery in as many years. His career is very much in question, however, he is determined to return to an NFL field. He is currently participating at OTAs in a very limited capacity. Pitta has been catching balls on the side and "moving well". His status for the season is still undetermined and likely will not clear up for at least a few months. There is a good chance he ends up on the PUP list to start the season. FANTASY ANALYSIS: Rookie Maxx Williams is expected to be the top TE in Baltimore this season. Pitta is too risky to draft, regardless of how late you pick him. Until he proves he's healthy and productive, you cannot waste a valuable roster spot on him. Take a wait-and-see approach on Pitta. Healthy he has upside, nevertheless, only as a waiver wire pickup. Pitta currently is not being drafted frequently enough to have an ADP. On the other hand, Williams is being drafted as the No. 12 TE. |

Saints RB Mark Ingram misses OTAs with 'a foot or an ankle' injury Posted: 31 May 2015 05:46 PM PDT Saints' top running back Mark Ingram was notably absent from OTAs on Thursday, which raised a view eyebrows. It turns out that it was just precautionary and he doesn't have any kind of serious injury or even a specific injury at all according to head coach Sean Payton. "We just had him back today, but he's been full speed up until this afternoon," Payton said. "He's doing well. He just has a foot or an ankle. There is no injury specific. We just backed off a bit." FANTASY ANALYSIS: This is good news for fantasy owners. Ingram is expected to be the RB1 in New Orleans and see the vast majority of the carries. The former first-round pick had a breakout year rushing for 964 yards and nine touchdowns in 13 games last season. His injuries are a concern being that he's only played 16 games once in his four-year career, nevertheless, he will be the workhorse for the Saints. You could always handcuff him with Khiry Robinson if you're worried about injuries. |
Saints HC Sean Payton wants to find ways to get RB C.J. Spiller the ball 'in space' Posted: 31 May 2015 05:16 PM PDT The Saints acquired former Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller this offseason, presumably to replace Pierre Thomas. His new head coach Sean Payton has made it clear he wants to get him the ball in space this season. "He's explosive," Payton said. "He knows what to do. I think there's a real good fit for him with what we're going to do offensively. We'll put him in a role where, whether he's in the backfield, (or) flexed out. The key I think for him is when we study him is finding him ways to get him the ball in space and let him utilize his skillset and speed." FANTASY ANALYSIS: Spiller's current ADP has him being drafted as the No. 25 running back and in the first two SCOUT Fantasy Draft-N-Go leagues, he was drafted as high as a mid-level RB2. This is honestly the most confusing fantasy trend I can remember in recent history. Spiller has been nothing but an underachieving, injury prone, disappointment and apparently he is ascending up draft boards. We've heard for years how this is his season. It never has been and never will be. If you're waiting for Spiller to somehow turn into Darren Sproles in New Orleans, it's not going to happen. Fred Jackson's current ADP has him the 77th RB off the board and Danny Woodhead at 74. Wait for them instead. There are plenty of other better backs in between. |
