Finding Denver Pool Table Refelting

By Edward Young

Pool is a very popular game in clubs and bar rooms and and a large number of people also enjoy playing it in their home. After time, a table's playing surface will become worn in places and it may develop holes or get ripped due to accidents and it will need renewing. When you are trying to locate denver pool table refelting it is a good idea to do some research before you contact a firm.

There are various places where you can find a company that can supply a technician to carry out refelting work. Looking through the local phone book is a good starting point and other firms will advertise in and around the local area. It is also worth contacting the company that supplied your table and they may be able to supply a technician.

You can also find a reliable firm by looking on the net and there are a lot of businesses listed online. Browsing their web sites will give you an idea of the type of work they do and you can contact them if you need to discuss things. Many of the web sites will have a testimonials section where you can read some feedback from their past clients.

The technicians who carry out maintenance of tables and fit felt are qualified professionals and very skilled. The prices you are charged will depend on the grade of cloth and the size of your table. When you have decided on a firm and agreed a price you can make an appointment for one of their fitters to do the work.

Initially the old felt will be taken off and this needs to be done correctly. The six side rails and pockets are then removed and inspected for damage. The slate bed can then be checked and cleaned properly in readiness for the new covering. Slates need to be properly leveled and any imperfections will be filled with specialized wax resin or putty filler.

You are usually given a choice of new cloth and this will either be a standard hard wearing felt or a professional grade material. After it has been cut to size it will be stretched to ensure a flat even playing surface. When the adhesives have dried, the pockets and rails can be refitted and checked, to make sure they are all in line.

When the refelting work is complete the final job is to check that everything is level and add the markings. Using a spirit level and shims will ensure that everything is level, playable and the pool balls will not roll off course. You can then inspect the finished results and pay the final bill.

All pool tables that are used daily use should be regularly inspected and kept in good playable condition. The felt should be brushed at least once a day and any dust from the chalk and other foreign bodies need to be removed. If the cloth suffers any tears, or gets damaged, it should be replaced before playing on the table again.
