Hi everyone, In just over a week, my second book, Abandoned America: Dismantling the Dream, finally hits stores! It's exciting and terrifying all at once - and I'm already planning out what will follow it. I hope if you got a copy that you like it - and if you do, please take a moment to write a positive review on Amazon as this is literally one of the biggest factors in the success or failure of a new book. I worked as hard as I could for a year and a half on it - it's not perfect but I think you'll enjoy learning more about the places featured in it and you'll see that in terms of design, layout, and print quality much better than my first one. I will be spending a lot of time on book promotion events in the next few months, and I have a whole bevy of dates below. I also have been adding quite a bit to the website. It's hard even for me to keep track of new additions, but I just put up a gallery of one of the earlier places I visited and the first galleries on my original website in 2006. The pictures have been completely remastered, and it was pretty neat to go back and see it again. The Reading Jail (a pseudonym that you Oscar Wilde fans out there might appreciate) was a creepy tomb of a building that has been abandoned for decades. The interior is no less imposing and chilling than the outside - keep your eyes open for a square hole in the floor that the gallows used to cover; while nobody was ever hanged there, if they were they would have dropped into the kitchen area, which is an odd design choice, don't you think? Book info: Book Events: I have quite a few book events coming up - I'll be filling in more details soon for the ones without links. If you're in the area for one of them, I hope you'll put it on your calendar, stop by, and say hello!
