Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell placed on probation; could miss up to two games in 2015

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell was admitted into an accelerated rehabilitive dispositon on Friday, stemming from his August arrest for DUI and possession of marijuana. Since he is a first-time offender, if he can complete this program successfully, the marijuana charges could be dropped. The 15-month probationary program will require Bell to abstain from drugs and alcohol, complete any recommended treatment, payhis court costs and a $100 fine. He will also have his driver's license suspended for 60 days and must complete a safe-driving class. He could still face up to a two-game suspension for the DUI he received. There is a sense of relief though, as it could have been a lot worse. FANTASY ANALYSIS: A two-game suspension would be just enough to make Bell an interesting player to monitor when ADPs start rolling out late this summer. Bell was arguably the best fantasy running back in 2014 and very well could be a contender for the No. 1 overall pick in 2015 drafts. His suspension, if there is one, should be known well before this summer's drafts. Regardless of any potential suspension, Bell is an elite RB1 for 2015 fantasy leagues.

Vikings RB Adrian Peterson emerges from hearing optimistic

quot;I got a fair hearing, for once". That is what Minnesota RB Adrian Peterson had to say after a hearing in which he sat and heard NFLPA attorney Jeffrey Kessler argue, on his behalf, that Peterson's suspension which he was forced to serve should not have been handed down as it was. Due to the fact that the league's new personal conduct policy, in regards to alleged child abuse, was not put in place until August 15, it was argued that he shoudn't have been suspended under that policy. This was after the allegations involving Peterson and his alleged abuse of his son was said to have occurred. U.S. District Judge David Doty said that he would take the player's association's lawsuit to have Peterson reinstated under advisement. Doty did not give a timeline for his decision. FANTASY ANALYSIS: Well, this is the first piece of good news Peterson has received in a while. Currently, he's eligible for reinstatement on April 15. If he can win his lawsuit against the league prior to that, then he could be reinstated earlier. Regardless, it's likely that Peterson will be back on the field in 2015. If he is, he's going to be a solid RB1 despite being 30 years old.
