| Saints and RB Mark Ingram desire to remain married Posted: 23 Jan 2015 12:13 PM PST Pro Bowl running back Mark Ingram, who is set to become a free agent this offseason, has expressed a desire to remain with the New Orleans Saints. quot;I'm looking forward to getting a new deal," Ingram said at Thursday's Pro Bowl practice in Phoenix. "Hopefully I'm with the Saints, man. They drafted me and I'd love to be with New Orleans for my career." Apparently that feeling is mutual. "They said they want me back," said Ingram, who ran for 964 yards and nine touchdowns this season. FANTASY ANALYSIS: Free agency is a tricky thing. Two parties may want to stay together. But at the end of the day, the dollars have to make sense to both parties. Strictly from a football perspective, it makes sense. He already knows the offense and proved this season that he can shoulder the load. If Ingram is back with the Saints in 2015, he's a mid-to-low-end RB2 in fantasy. While he isn't a PPR stud, his 29 receptions in 13 games this season was more than his first three seasons combined. If he can manage 36 to 40 catches in 2015, his value is only enhanced. |
