Colts re-sign Rob Chudzinski, promote him to associate head coach Posted: 27 Jan 2015 11:48 PM PST On the day Rob Chudzinski became eligible to talk to other teams about new work opportunities, he decided that he's fine right where he is. He agreed Tuesday to stay on the Colts' coaching staff for another year and has been promoted to associate head coach. Chudzinski served as a special assistant to head coach Chuck Pagano in 2014. quot; We're excited to keep Chud in our family," Pagano said in a team release. "He's been a critical part of our operation and we're looking forward to sharing even more success in the future." FANTASY ANALYSIS: Sorry, Vernon Davis. Both the 49ers and Rams were interested in discussing their offensive coordinator vacancy with Chud, but the Colts shot down those requests. With presumably greater influence on Indy's offense, expect the Colts' tight ends to remain very valuable in fantasy leagues. Coby Fleener ended this season as the No. 6 TE in standard formats. |
Seahawks CB Richard Sherman dealing with torn elbow ligaments Posted: 27 Jan 2015 05:21 PM PST The face of Seattle's defense, cornerback Richard Sherman, made it known today that he has been receiving treatment for torn ligaments in his left elbow, but that his treatment is complete and the injury won't hold him back at all in Sunday's Super Bowl. He has continued to practice in full this week. Sherman injured the elbow in the NFC Championship against Green Bay. He played through the pain but was obviously favoring the injury. FANTASY ANALYSIS: The Legion of Boom should be fully intact, even if it's not 100 percent for Sunday's Super Bowl showdown with New England. WIth the way he was favoring his elbow at the end of the NFC title game, the fact that Sherman will play is impressive in itself. Seattle's defense has been playing at a high level and with Sherman manning the left side of its coverage, the Patriots will likely have to stick with short passes over the middle and stay away from the outside. Sherman is about as good as they come at his position. |
Posted: 27 Jan 2015 04:40 PM PST It's been rumored that as many as 15 teams have been interested in acquiring CFL wide receiver Duron Carter. The son of Hall of Fame wideout Cris Carter, Duron has reportedly signed with the Colts. Boasting impressive size, speed and pedigree, Carter adds upside to Indy's already crowded corps of receivers. FANTASY ANALYSIS: The fantasy gods must hate Donte Moncrief. While Carter isn't guaranteed to make the Colts' 53-man roster, the fact that they're aggressively pursuing him suggests the franchise isn't totally sold on Moncrief's potential. It does make sense they'd like to add depth given the ineffectiveness of both Reggie Wayne and Hakeem Nicks. Perhaps a healthy competition will ensue, elevating the play and viability of both young receivers. |
