| Bengals TE Jermaine Gresham out for Sunday's Wild Card Game at Indianapolis Posted: 04 Jan 2015 08:59 AM PST Tight end Jermaine Gresham, who injured his back in the Bengals' Week 17 game versus Pittsburgh, will not play Sunday when Cincinnati takes on the Indianapolis Colts in the Wild Card Round. Gresham missed practice most of the week, but he was limited on Friday, leading to optimism that he'd play today. However, he was unable to get it loose enough in pregame, warm-ups and the team has officially ruled him out. The tight end's absence is big as he was second on the team this season with 62 receptions. WRs A.J. Green and Dane Sanzenbacher were also ruled out earlier in the week. FANTASY ANALYSIS: What does this mean for the Bengals' passing game? It means that the Bengals' passing game is a mess as Green and Gresham have been two of the very few targets Andy Dalton can trust. WR Mohamed Sanu, who had a couple nice games early in the year with Green out but has disappeared of late, is the only receiver or tight end worth using in fantasy. RB Giovani Bernard, in my opinion, is a great play today. I expect him to be heavily involved in the passing game. If the Bengals fall behind early, it only plays into Bernard's favor. This also means that the Bengals will use a heavy dose of RB Jeremy Hill today as was already expected. |
