What Could Be Worse Than Terrorism That Is Beyond Terror

By Andrea Davidson

There are so many things that are happening in the world today that is beyond terror. If you watch the news on television or even read about it on the internet, you will find out about the different wars of the world and its people. You will see countries that are at war with each other.

These three authors namely, Chris Abbott, Paul Rogers and John Sloboda maintain that terrorism is not the greatest catastrophic threat that could hit the world. It is the effects of climate change that is brought about by the degradation of the environment. Actually, these climate change effects are starting to show themselves to the world.

They cannot live normally under such conditions where in all you would hear are gun shots and exploding armaments. Business is stopped because no vendors can continue peddling his wares when there is a war going on. So many people have died already because of these wars.

It makes you wonder if those people killing each other ever get tire. They should know that this accomplished nothing and only takes lives mostly of the innocent. Students who want to go to school and study cannot go to school anymore. The school had long been razed to dust because it was hit in the crossfire.

If people are very focused in eradicating terrorism in the face of the earth, then they also ought to give the same fervor in saving the environment. The book argues that if climate change and other environmental effects due to the negligence of the people in utilizing the environment and its natural resources are left unattended for a long time, it can also wreak havoc and pose a security threat far greater than terrorism. If you have not read the book and want to check out, you can find information on the internet.

You might catch skin cancer if you expose yourself too long. Dermatologists are advising people to always wear sun screen and any sun protection like an umbrella. These researchers from Britain insist that when it gets to the point where in food and other natural resources are enough, that is the time when people would be uncontrollable and willing to kill.

It is pitiful for these boys to have no option to a good life. There is so much they have missed on life. They were supposed to be in school getting busy with school projects or playing their favorite sports instead of taking a gun to protect their life and that of their loved ones'. But there are also wars that are happening in your own backyard.

The book did not underestimate the effects of terrorism in society. You cannot just belittle what victims of terrorism have gone through. Many lost their lives and even if some of the victims have survived the incident, many of them could not find work because they have lost a part of their body.

The environment is also at war with the people living in it. As you can see, people are experiencing climate change. This is attributed to the people's disregard of the welfare of the environment. People just keep on enriching themselves at the expense of the environment. These things are beyond terror and they are unfolding before your eyes everyday. It is to wake to the reality and something about it.
