Spotlight will find every file and folder on your Mac. If you have a folder you don’t want to appear in the results you can remove it using either the spotlight preferences within System Preferences, or adding the word “.noindex” to the end of any file or folder. Removing Results There are two ways to remove results from spotlight searches. Use either the preference option or the .noindex hack.
