Change & Alter Siri Commands To Fix Mistakes

Hey,

Siri is a powerful that allows you ask your iPhone or iPad a question or command and receive a response. It makes using your iOS device a lot simpler, and allows you to find the answers to complex questions quickly. The problem with Siri is that is uses voice recognition, a problem if it cannot understand you or are speaking in an environment which distorts the sounds. Today’s, simple, trick is going to show you how to edit a Siri command and re-submit it. This allows you to resend the correct command and hopefully receive the response you require.

Editing A Siri Command

The first step to this trick is to use Siri in the normal fashion. Ask a question, if it picks it up correctly this trick will be of little use. However, if it gets it wrong (which can happen frequently) we can edit what we have said.

Siri incorrectly interpreted my question, giving the wrong response.

To edit the command issued to Siri scroll up to find the command and tap on the text. You can then edit the command like any other piece of text. Press the ‘Done’ button on your keyboard to accept the change.

Tap the command to edit it.

The command will then be issued again to Siri, this time correctly. You will hopefully receive the response your require.

This trick can be used to alter a correct command, but for a different result. For example, if you have asked for the weather in London, it will give you the weather, however it can be quicker to alter the command to New York than asking it. This trick can also be used to make minor changes to a question.

Sometimes it is quicker to alter a question for Siri than asking it again. Especially with Siri has trouble with what you are saying.
