Writing Ad Copy for PPC that Converts

By Noriko Fair

Writing an effective ad copy for your PPC campaign is all about balance - you have to get everything in order to see the kind of results you want, and this requires a lot of experimentation and testing. We will divulge some of our ad copy secrets in this article, so pay attention and then take action.

Get in Your Customers' Shoes: Thinking like your customers is really important if you want to be able to convince them to click on your ad and take some action. When you're writing ad copy for your PPC campaign, you have to keep in mind the preferences of your target audience. You can consider how to target your ad to your target audience once you're clear about who you're targeting. Your ideal customers will be golfers looking for new clubs, for example, if you're selling golf clubs. Picture the needs/wants of your prospect and hold it in your mind while you're creating your ad.

Be Timely: If you're running a campaign focused on current trends or holidays, make sure your ad copy clearly reflects what's available now. You don't want to run out of inventory while your campaign is still running. You need to update your ad copy anytime there is a change. By not focusing on this one factor, many advertisers lose lots of money. So keep things timely by pausing your campaign and making the necessary changes if you run out of inventory, for example. However, if you're selling something like an eBook, which is a digital product and has unlimited supply, you don't have to worry about this.

Use Facts: If you can use known facts to support your copy, nothing beats it. Because people like facts, using them makes it easier to garner their trust. Mentioning that you've sold a thousand copies of your products if you have will make your ad copy more effective. Doing this is a great way to prove that what you're offering really works and gets results.

Actually, writing great PPC ad copy is not hard, but in the beginning it is because you have no idea; so get some knowledge about it and then some experience.
