Healthy Foods For A Healthy Body: The Paleo Food List

There are many fad diets out there, and most of them are a recipe for failure. These diets are restrictive, boring, and many are not based on sound evidence or nutritious benefits. The Paleo diet food list allows for many options, and will help individuals not only shed extra pounds, but gain a healthier body as well. Constant dieting can lead to a faulty metabolism, especially when these diets eliminate healthy food options. Healthy foods are easy to find and do not include processed high fat choices, high-calorie choices.

The Paleo diet consists of foods eaten before agricultural farming began. This means that we may eat freely of meats, fishes, fowl, vegetables, fruits and nuts. Grains, legumes, dairy, and artificial sweeteners are omitted from daily intake. Some may find this restrictive, but when closely examined, there are many satisfying foods available. Delicious recipes can be created from the many choices.

Enjoy meats, as our ancestors did, like beef, fish, and fowl. Eggs are OK as well, and can come from duck, chicken or quail. All fish, including shellfish, is allowed on this plan. Be creative and find delicious recipes that include these options.

Fresh vegetables are great as a side dish to any meal, or just for a snack. Pick green leafy vegetables spinach, Swiss chard and turnip greens. Furthermore parsnips, carrots, beets, and yams are all tasty options. Not all fats are bad, so healthy fats should be included into your daily intake. Avocados are full of healthy fats, so enjoy them as they are or as guacamole. Cook with olive and coconut oils, and add herbs for extra flavor in your dishes.

Snacking is allowed. Fresh fruits make an excellent snack and includes choices like bananas, grapefruit, apples, melons, berries, and pears, to name a few. Nuts contain healthy fats, and are a good choice for snacking. Pistachios, Brazil nuts, pecans, and cashews are delicious snacking options.

Many foods that came about after the agricultural revolution, have been deemed harmful to our bodies and can lead to a number of health ailments. There has been a rise in obesity and diseases like type 2 diabetes and heart disease. These ailments, as well as several others, are directly linked to the foods we eat. Foods that contain wheat and gluten may be particularly harmful to those with a sensitivity to them. Wheat and glutens contain lectins, which may become irritating to the stomach, and contain opioid peptides that may cause withdrawal symptoms for those who attempt to eliminate it from their daily intake.

The Paleo diet food list is extensive. It contains healthy foods that promote weight loss and health. With so many wonderful choices, it is impossible to get bored on this diet.
