Meeting the customer's needs as you work together in a team is your first priority - and that means you could be doing absolutely anything to keep them happy. If you enjoy working with the public and have the patience and personality to match, then a hospitality apprenticeship will give you the training you need to work either face-to-face with your customers or elsewhere behind the scenes.
A hotel apprenticeship is just like any other apprenticeship, giving you the same rights and benefits as those offered to the people working with you. This includes sickness pay, holiday pay... and, of course, a wage of your own.
As the company is paying for your course, the minimum wage for 16-18 year olds and 19+ year olds in their first year is 2.60 per hour, but research shows that most people on apprenticeships earn around 170 per week. If you are 19+ and have completed your first year, the pay goes up to the normal national minimum wage.
After completing your apprenticeship, you will gain a level 2 recognised qualification in your chosen field. You can then chose to work your way up in the industry, getting a job and experience to help you on your way up or take on higher qualifications. The choice is yours.
