A blog is quite simple to customize, as there are hundreds of free themes to choose from, or inexpensive ones you can buy. You shouldn't simply use a pre-existing site or theme "as is," though; its better to give it your own unique appearance.

One way to run your ads that can work well is renting a little spot on another site for your ads. What is commonly done is using that ad space to display your banners, and you have to do some learning about this method, but it is not at all hard to do. Banner ad creation is pretty simple, but if you are lazy or whatever you can hire a freelancer for it. But do not forget those metrics so you know what is happening with the banner. Then, the most important part is researching, finding and contacting prospective sites and inquiring about buying some space for your banner.

Continuing on with advertising options, in addition to banner ads you can use pay per click advertising, or commonly called PPC advertising. PPC advertisers who do well have experience, but they did learn and did stay with it until they were good at it. Be willing to broaden your horizons and look at other search engines besides Google. Definitely check out Adbrite because they are not as unforgiving as Google, and they have a good interface in place. There is more on the net than you can shake a stick at, and all you have to do is start looking for it.

The smartest thing any person can do when brand new to business on the web is learn accurate information. Since you will likely not know anyone you can totally trust, then that is why a reputable marketing forum is recommended. It is actually not that hard to get good information on a forum - if the forum has a good reputation. Then you will be able to find out almost anything, and you can ask questions and get straight answers. You will find a community type of atmosphere, and people will have reputations they have to uphold which will help assure you of receiving accurate information.
