I just got back from a family vacation to the Bahamas. I went with my mom, my dad, my brother, and my sister because my parents wanted us to spend some quality time together. My mom managed to get a vacation from work, which isn't easy for her, so she wanted to take advantage of this opportunity. She figured a 7 day family vacation is just what we needed to boost our mood, but I wasn't so sure. I was quite worried that the 5 of us were going to kill each other after just a couple of days of being cramped in a tiny hotel room and spending every second of the day together. But I did try to think positively and I headed off to the airport with my family hoping that everything would go according to plan. However, things fell apart when I lost my iPhone charger at the airport.
I just got my iPhone about a month ago, and now I've grown to depend on it for so much. So, it was a big problem when I realized my iPhone charger was gone later that night. I had started unpacking all my things and when I got to the bottom of my bag, I realized my charger was nowhere to be found. I didn't know what to do. I just wanted to cry.
After emptying my purse and going through every single pocket in my luggage, I was near tears because the charger still didn't turn up. I never lose things, so this was a new experience for me. My mom tried to help calm me down, explaining that she was sure we could find somewhere for me to buy a charger while we were in the Bahamas. Click here to see the website she found that sold iPhone chargers. But I needed my charger now. What was I supposed to do if my phone died soon and I didn't have a way to charge it?
I knew that I had to find a store that carried iPhone chargers, but we didn't know where anything was yet. We spent the whole next day by the pool at the hotel, so I just tried my best to conserve my phone's battery while I was waiting for a more permanent solution to my troubles. I looked for clocks around to check the time instead of using my phone, and I also didn't spend too much time using all the apps on my phone because I knew that would drain the battery quicker. But I had a plan - the next day I would ask the hotel manager for directions to the closest store that carried iPhone chargers.
The next morning, the first thing I did was find the hotel manager to ask him where the nearest store was for me to get a new iPhone charger. I was worried he might not know, but I was pleasantly surprised to hear that he had a list of all the retail stores within a 10 mile radius of the hotel. Although the list mostly consisted of clothing stores, I finally found a store that would work for me - Best Buy. I got the directions and I was on my way to the store in my family's rental car within a few minutes. I was back quick, and I was much happier than when I left. With my new iPhone charger, I was finally ready to sit back, relax, and enjoy my family vacation. I really hope this problem never arises again.
