Can Caffeine be related to High Blood Pressure?

A lot of speculations have been made with the connection between caffeine and high blood pressure. Some studies claim that drinking coffee causes one to experience hypertension or high blood pressure while other researches strongly disagree. These varying results are the reason why there is a confusion on what really is the connection of caffeine to high blood pressure.

First of caffeine found in coffees are recorded to be so high that compared to chocolates, teas and sodas they contain less. Caffeine found in these beverages as little as they come can be quite dangerous and risky to one's health, especially as caffeine is so addictive that it can cause one to have palpitations, increased blood pressure and nervousness.

Many studies supported the fact that anyone who consumes 2-3 cups of coffee per day or 250 milligrams will cause no or little harm to one's body but more than these would mean experiencing health problems of hypertension or high blood pressure. It is important to keep tract of one's blood pressure or BP every once in a while. Even a person who is used to coffee can still experience a slight increase blood pressure compared to those with normal blood pressure.

Coffee is a powerful stimulant and is likewise addictive, and when one is hooked into drinking it, their bodies will be used to its effects that are why these individuals do not suffer much from immediate nervousness, palpitations and slight increase in their blood pressure. Remember, caffeine alone cannot be said to be the cause of having high blood pressure or hypertension, there are different factors that needs to be considered first like genetics, medical history, calorie consumption, unhealthy practices, improper eating habits, vices like alcohol and smoking, environment, stress, exercise and etc.

While others cannot go by without drinking coffee, there are also some that are not so into it. In truth, these people are more at risk to caffeine's immediate effects like palpitation and nervousness once they drink a cup of coffee because their body is not used to caffeine, though the effects may only last 2-3 hours, there are more health related risks that could stay in their system for quite a long time.

In some latest study made, there are claims that even if one drinks up to 6 cups of coffee in a day, there would relation whatsoever to experiencing cardiovascular diseases.

But of course to be safe, it is better for coffee lovers to lessen their consumption at most to 200 mg or opt for decaffeinated type instead of those that contains caffeine.
