I am not someone who is hard to figure out. All you have to do is look at me, and you'll know instantly that I am a big supporter of gun rights in the United States. Everything about me screams about The Second Amendment. From the 9mm on my hip to the gun t-shirts on my torso, you'll know exactly where I stand. I was taught these ideals by my father, and he was taught by my grandfather. I will teach my sons and daughters how to shoot, maintain, and respect a gun. You can bet your socks that I wear gun t-shirts, no matter what kind of activity I take part in.
As a prolific gun owner, I am also naturally a prolific hunter. I feel that hunting not only keeps us tied to the land and to nature, but it also give us a natural way to train with firearms. It's very useful for gun owners to also hunt, for this reason. When I'm out in the woods, I'm for sure wearing my gun t-shirts. I have several that are put aside specially for hunting that are either camouflaged, or in very neutral color schemes. After hunting, we always go to a certain convenient store to meet and share our day's exploits, and my hunting friends love to see what new gun t-shirts I have.
I realize that I have made a complete goof of myself in some really public places because of my gun t-shirts. I have found myself in yelling matches with gun haters who want to see guns more heavily regulated. If my wife or kids had been there, I can't honestly say I wouldn't have done the same thing. I just don't back down when it comes to gun rights, and I now understand that some of my gun t-shirts can be a bit incendiary to liberals. Since I stopped wearing those kinds of shirts while out with my family, those outbursts quickly stopped. Lesson learned.
If I'm going out with my close friends, then my gun t-shirts are anything but timid. All of my close friends are really into guns as well, so there's a big circle of support there for me to hook up with. We always like wearing our latest gun t-shirts to our gatherings, but I have to say with a small amount of pride that mine are usually the best. I try to find shirts that both support the 2nd Amendment, and also are downright hilarious. Thanks to the Internet, there are plenty of really good websites out there to choose from.
All in all, I have found that the gun t-shirts that I wear are extremely useful in showing people what I mean when I say, "I believe in gun rights."
